Sunset Soiree

Acrylic paint on stretched canvas. What happens when the sun goes down? Below our feet, all the little demons and devils get ready for the night's devilry. At least, that is what I had a fun time depicting in this multi-tiered canvas piece. I created this piece centered around the sunset, and at the time, Halloween was less than a month away. The idea kept coming back to me that sunset is the witching hour and that they would be having a party.

Acrylic paint on museum board. Matted and framed. My exploration into abstract landscapes led me to pick up Acrylic Paint Pens for the first time. In order to achieve the level of detail I wanted; the paint pens were a revelation. I created the background using several types of palette knives. From there it's all due to my imagination and the drive to create as much detail in any given space as the pens allowed me.
